Sinthanai Foundation is a registered charity. We work at the grassroot level. Please note that we are not a funding or a grant making organisation as the name may suggest at times. The word Sinthanai derives from Tamil Language and means THINK in it’s verb from and THOUGHT in it’s noun form. Hence the name denotes the meaning “ Foundation for Knowledge”. Our FREE EDUCATION CENTRE is established at Kotagala, a small town on the Hatton – Nuwaraeliya high road in the hill country region of Sri Lanka. In order to achieve this we focus in bridging the disparity in access to knowledge among those who live in disadvantaged areas.

At our education centre we provide language, skills & Intellectual development programmes to those who come from less fortunate background and living in the remote parts of Sri Lanka. This vision is implemented beyond the restrictions of racial, religious and sexual discriminations.

Sinthanai Foundation is licensed by BBC Active to use its materials for educational purpose. With this fortunate opportunity we are confident of bringing an intellectually wealthy society of individuals who will contribute to a better future of the mankind.
